Arnsberg Hosts Open Dementia Care Discussion on Oct 1
The city of Arnsberg invites you to the next 'Open Discussion Circle on Dementia' on Wednesday, October 1, at 6 pm at the Multigenerational House. This event is free and requires no registration. It aims to support relatives caring for loved ones with dementia at home.
Dementia affects not only the person diagnosed but also their family. Around 70% of care-dependent individuals with dementia live at home, relying on relatives for support. This responsibility brings numerous challenges and significant physical and emotional stress.
Since October 2024, the Arnsberg Network has been hosting these open discussion circles. They provide a protected space for relatives to share experiences, seek advice, and find mutual support. Judith Wohlgemuth, from the city's 'Fachstelle Zukunft Alter', works to ensure these events run smoothly and benefit the attendees.
The 'Open Discussion Circle on Dementia' offers a crucial lifeline for relatives, helping them navigate the complexities of caring for a loved one with dementia. It encourages them to express their needs and maintain a balance between their caring role and personal life.
