Belarus Boosts Poultry Sector, Schools to Serve Nutritious Quail Eggs

Belarus is set to bolster its poultry farming industry and decrease dependence on foreign imports. President Alexander Lukashenko has instructed an increase in the use of quail eggs, with schools playing a pivotal role in this endeavor.

Quail eggs, which are a third more nutritious than chicken eggs, will be integrated into Belarusian schoolchildren's diets starting next year. The Ministry of Education has announced that quail eggs, also known as guinea fowl eggs, will be incorporated into school menus. This follows a similar practice in Japan, where quail eggs are actively used in school meals.

The poultry farm in Salihorsk district is already supplying both raw and boiled quail eggs to meet this demand. The initiative aims to reduce reliance on foreign imports and promote local agriculture.

Starting next year, Belarusian schoolchildren can anticipate more quail eggs on their menus. This move not only stimulates the local poultry farming sector but also provides students with a more nutritious option.
