The family believes that the authorities' delayed response is due to the contractor's influential status.
There seems to be more to this story than meets the eye, as an employee from the village akimat posted an offensive social media post about the injured boy, claiming he caused the accident himself and even removed the non-existent barrier. The boy's aunt filed another police report for false witnessing and defamation, although the woman in question has since deleted the post.
The police confirmed that a criminal investigation has been initiated under Article "Production, Sale of Goods, or Performance of Work/Rendering of Services Failing to Meet Safety Requirements." Materials were also sent to the State Architectural and Construction Control and Licensing Department of the Akimat of the North Kazakhstan Region for a safety compliance check during engineering works. If found guilty, the performance of work or rendering of services not meeting safety requirements resulting in bodily harm due to negligence may incur a fine of up to 160 MCI (629,120 tenge), corrective labor of the same amount, up to 160 hours of community service, up to 40 days of arrest, and restriction from holding certain positions or engaging in specific activities for up to three years.
The North Kazakhstan Department of Internal Affairs reported that Kirill's condition is stable, but he still requires medical attention, for which his family is personally responsible. Meanwhile, the Akimat of Taiynsha District acknowledged the incident and promised to hold the responsible subcontractor accountable. Yet, the family remains skeptical about whether the contractor will evade responsibility.
