Bremen Tackles Social Inequality in Health with March 19 Event

Bremen's Health Department is hosting an event on Eventbrite on March 19, 2023, titled 'Social Inequality and Health', aiming to tackle health disparities in the city's socially disadvantaged neighborhoods. The project, launched in 2022 with funding from the GKV alliance and Bremen's own funds, seeks to expand health services and ensure they reach those in difficult social circumstances.

Health Senator Claudia Bernhard has emphasized the need to reduce health inequalities in Bremen. The event on Eventbrite will present health department offers and facilitate an exchange with local actors, including quarter managers and health professionals. While details of a specific health department event on this date are not available, a related congress on poverty and health was held in March 2023. Throughout the year, health dialogues will be held in neighborhoods to address health needs directly. The project, 'Municipal Structural Development for Health Promotion and Prevention', is currently being implemented in eight districts selected based on health promotion needs. It aims to strengthen health-promoting governance structures in these neighborhoods.

The Health Department Day on Eventbrite is part of Bremen's ongoing effort to reduce health inequalities. By engaging local stakeholders and expanding health services, the project seeks to improve the health of those in challenging social circumstances.
