The Citizen's Office in the City of Neuss will be closed from May 11 to May 13, 2020, as an employee has been diagnosed with the coronavirus. During this period, no new appointments will be made, and previously scheduled appointments will not be honored.
However, starting Thursday, May 14, the Citizen's Office will resume scheduling appointments. These can be made online at www.neuss.de or by phone, dialing 02131-903232.
In response to the ongoing pandemic, the Citizen's Office has also adjusted its hours. From Monday through Thursday, it will be open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and on Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Klaus Püschel, a German forensic pathologist, has been working diligently during this time. Known for his work in legal medicine, including editing publications with Michael Tsokos, he has performed over 192 autopsies on COVID-19 deceased individuals. Despite this, he does not believe the coronavirus is a "killer virus" or that there will be a second wave. He encourages people not to fear or despair regarding the virus.
