Embarking on a school trip, the young adventurers from Yekaterinburg discovered a bitter twist to their journey. Pediatricians detected symptoms of a common intestinal infection in them.
Eight students were offloaded from the train, as relayed by the deputy governor and Sverdlovsk region's Minister of Health, Tatyana Savinova. Predominantly, these students appear to have been afflicted by tainted food they'd brought from home. While the onboard feeding was centrally managed, meals were served from a carriage-restaurant. Thankfully, no further incidents of poisoning have been reported.
The affected students were hospitalized in the Voronezh Region. The Sverdlovsk region's Ministry of Health is closely monitoring their health status. Luckily, they are already on the mend, and upon completion of their treatment, they'll be transported to Anapa. The rest of the students continue their journey undeterred.
In April, students from School No. 178 in Uralmash also suffered from food poisoning. Initially, signs of infection were confirmed in seven students, but the number shortly surged to 24. In total, 40 students complained of feeling unwell.
A court temporarily halted the operation of the company supplying food to the affected students in Uralmash. Inspections at the facility revealed violations.
