Dental and eye care services provided gratis in CABA: guidelines for registration and scope of available treatments
The City of Buenos Aires is offering free dental and ophthalmological services to its residents, primarily through public health centers and hospitals such as the Hospital de Clínicas and municipal health centers. These services are part of government health programs aimed at the general population and vulnerable groups.
Starting this week, dental appointments are available on Wednesdays, with services that include extractions, general cleaning, caries repair, and dental check-ups. The dental services will be offered from 9 am to 2 pm at Plaza Ejército de los Andes, Colonel Ramón Falcón and Albariño, Villa Luro on September 24.
Ophthalmological care is provided on Tuesdays, including eye measurement and delivery of glasses, intended for people over 18 years old. On Tuesday, September 23, dental services will also be offered on the same day and location. On the following Tuesday, September 30, dental services will be available at the same place, and ophthalmological services will be offered as well.
It's recommended to visit the dentist at least once a year for check-ups and cleanings. Free dental consultations are available in CABA. Glasses can be requested, which take approximately two weeks to be ready and are picked up at the same attention centers.
The City of Buenos Aires also offers these services at other locations. On September 23 and 24, dental and ophthalmological services will be offered from 9 am to 2 pm at Plaza Ejército de los Andes, Cnel. Ramón Falcón and Albarinó, Villa Luro. On September 30 and October 1, dental and ophthalmological services will be available at Plaza 24 de septiembre, Av. San Martín and Coronel Apolinario Figueroa, Villa Crespo.
At the attention points, you can access other procedures such as social assistance, assistance with AGIP, ANSES, Mi BA, and SUBE transactions, Buenos Aires citizenship, consumer defense, management before the regulatory entity of public services of the city, and registrations and changes in educational institutions. You can also carry out DNI and passport procedures (with limited quotas); request subsidies for electricity, water, and gas; and file complaints or receive guidance on crimes before the Public Prosecutor's Office of the City.
These services have limited places and attention is on a first-come, first-served basis. The minimum age for receiving free ophthalmological attention is 18. The waiting period for the delivery of requested lenses is 2 weeks. The City of Buenos Aires offers these services through the 'More services in your neighborhood' program.
