Grevenbroich, Germany – Plans to restructure the Rheinland Clinic have sparked concern among residents, with the proposed closure of the emergency room at the Grevenbroich site causing significant unrest.

In a letter to the district administrator of the Rhein-Kreis Neuss and the mayor of the city of Neuss, Mayor Klaus Krützen of Grevenbroich has demanded transparent public relations and a guarantee of equal emergency care. The Rhein-Kreis Neuss and the city of Neuss are the two shareholders of the Rheinland Clinic.

Mayor Krützen emphasized the need for the Rheinland Clinic to address and explain the planned restructuring's impact on the local population and proposed a public information event to alleviate concerns and foster trust. The city of Grevenbroich is prepared to offer administrative support during this event.

Krützen further emphasized the importance of upholding emergency care at the current quality level in cooperation with the district as the carrier of the rescue service. In his correspondence, he referred to the resolution of the city council of Grevenbroich, instructing the company to organize a public information event.

The mayor also highlighted that the Elisabeth Hospital in Grevenbroich will remain a hospital location, with plans for a geriatric specialist clinic, an internal medicine location, an outpatient specialist clinic, possibly an outpatient operating center, and additional nursing services. however, the retention of the emergency room in Grevenbroich is not part of these plans. The offer of the Rheintor Clinic remains unchanged.
