The annual Dreck-weg-Tag, an environmental clean-up event organised by the Pro Düsseldorf association, is scheduled to take place on June 12, despite being postponed twice in 2021. Due to the increased necessity to organise a clean-up, particularly in light of the Corona pandemic, the event is more important than ever.

Used masks and packaging waste, especially around 'to go' businesses, have become a significant problem, making the clean-up efforts even more crucial. However, actions for kindergartens and schools have been cancelled due to current circumstances.

To ensure safety measures are in place, a distance and hygiene concept has been developed to meet all requirements. It is likely that social distancing, mask mandates, group size restrictions, increased hygiene measures, and the provision of hand sanitizers and personal protective equipment were implemented, similar to other public events during this period.

The material distribution centres for the Dreck-weg-Tag are central locations within Düsseldorf. Participants can collect materials at Oberkasseler Rheinwiesen, exit Oberkasseler Bridge, and Schützenplatz in Garath, Frankfurter Straße 323. Materials can also be picked up at Am Draap 17 in the week before the event.

Registration for the event can be done via the website www.dreck-weg-tag.de. The distribution centre for materials prior to the Dreck-weg-Tag is located at Am Draap 17. Participants can collect materials from the distribution centres during the Dreck-weg-Tag as well.

All students still have the opportunity to participate in the "normal" Dreck-weg-Tag, although activities for kindergartens and schools may have been adapted to smaller groups. For more precise information on the 2021 regulations for Dreck-weg-Tag Düsseldorf, one would need to check official statements from Düsseldorf city authorities or the organiser of Dreck-weg-Tag in 2021.

Dr. Klaus Vorgang, a member of the Pro Düsseldorf board, is overseeing the organisation of this year's event. The Dreck-weg-Tag material distribution centres will provide trash bags and gloves to facilitate the clean-up efforts.

The necessity to organise a clean-up has become even greater due to Corona, with used masks and packaging waste, especially around 'to go' businesses, being a significant problem. The Dreck-weg-Tag remains an essential event in the fight against litter and waste in Düsseldorf.

  1. In light of the Corona pandemic and the resulting increase in used masks and packaging waste, particularly around 'to go' businesses, the Dreck-weg-Tag, an environmental clean-up event organized by Pro Düsseldorf association, plays a crucial role in science (field of study about the natural world and how things work) and health-and-wellness (promoting physical and mental well-being).
  2. The importance of maintaining a clean environment is further highlighted in the context of the Dreck-weg-Tag, as it combines health-and-wellness considerations (reducing health hazards from litter) with environmental-science (promoting sustainable practices and reducing waste).
