Health Care Collaboration: Petrichenko Emphasizes Importance of Methods Aligning with Our Cultural Understanding (Belarusians and Petrichenko)
In Mazyr, a field meeting is underway, focusing on the promotion of a healthy lifestyle across the nation. The Deputy Prime Minister, Igor Petrishenko, is leading the discussion, emphasizing the importance of practices that foster a culture of healthy living among the population, from kindergartens to workplaces.
The region's experience in promoting a healthy lifestyle is being presented during the meeting. Petrishenko values methods that align with Belarusian mentality and comply with legislative norms. He emphasizes the need for approaches that resonate with the people to ensure the success of these initiatives.
One such initiative is the ongoing effort to encourage smoking cessation at "Mozyrsel," as a result of its management's initiative. The Deputy Prime Minister has also voiced the idea of creating an artificial saltwater pool at "Mozyrsel," indicating a move towards innovative wellness solutions.
The Belarusian government's approach to promoting a healthy lifestyle is multifaceted. It primarily focuses on developing and modernizing natural and built wellness infrastructure at resorts and sanatoriums. This includes enhancing recreational and therapeutic facilities such as swimming pools and beach-park areas, like the lakeside beach-park zone at Narochanka near Lake Naroch.
These initiatives are part of a broader infrastructure development program (2025-2029) supported by organizations like the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus. The aim is to upgrade existing health and recreational facilities that contribute to healthier lifestyles.
The meeting is also discussing the implementation of the state prophylactic project "Healthy Cities and Towns" in the Gomel region and nationwide. Participants have familiarized themselves with the practices of the region, and the discussion includes measures to strengthen the reproductive health of youth and to minimize alcohol consumption among both youth and adults.
In addition, many projects to develop the city and district's infrastructure are being implemented in the Mazyr district. Notably, the construction of a sports and recreation center is nearing completion.
The Chairperson of the Mazyr district executive committee, Elena Pavlichek, emphasizes the importance of supporting and caring for the population for the state's social and economic development. She believes that these initiatives will foster environments conducive to exercise, social engagement, and natural wellness, contributing to the health and vitality of the nation.
