Hospital in Windsor to commence CEO recruitment, with Musyj remaining in London, and Riddell planning retirement.

In a series of significant developments, Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH) has announced that it will be initiating a recruitment process for a new president and CEO, as well as a new Chief Nursing Executive and vice president, later this summer.

Currently serving as the CEO, David Musyj, will not be returning to WRH following his more than a year-long secondment to London Health Sciences Centre. This extension at London Health Sciences Centre was approved by Ontario's Minister of Health.

David Musyj, a dedicated leader at WRH for an unspecified number of years, has expressed gratitude towards the hospital's team, Board, leadership, staff, and Windsor-Essex residents for their support during his career. He will continue to work towards ensuring Windsor's new hospital becomes a reality, even as he remains at London Health Sciences Centre.

In the interim, Karen Riddell, who has stepped in as acting president and CEO in David Musyj's absence, will continue serving in these roles. Riddell, who is also the current interim CEO, has been an exceptional leader at WRH in both her past and present roles. She has also confirmed that she will continue serving as Chief Nursing Executive during this period.

Karen Riddell's retirement from WRH will occur no later than March 31st, 2026. McLeod, a spokesperson for WRH, has acknowledged these leadership changes at the hospital.

As of now, the identity of the next CEO of WRH after David Musyj and Karen Riddell's retirement remains unknown or has not yet been publicly announced. A search for available information regarding the successor has yielded no concrete results.

With both David Musyj and Karen Riddell stepping down, WRH is set to undergo a period of transition. However, the hospital remains committed to providing quality care to its patients, and the recruitment process for new leadership is a crucial step towards ensuring continuity and progress.

  1. David Musyj, despite his forthcoming retirement on March 31st, 2026, will continue working on ensuring Windsor's new hospital becomes a reality, even as he remains at London Health Sciences Centre.
  2. The recruitment process for a new president and CEO, as well as a new Chief Nursing Executive and vice president, at Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH) will commence later this summer.
  3. In the realm of health and wellness, the leadership changes at WRH are significant as they will lead to new perspectives in hospital management and medical-conditions care.
  4. The retirement of David Musyj and Karen Riddell at WRH, coupled with the ongoing business of recruitment for new leadership, shows the hospital's commitment towards finance, careers, and science, ensuring the institution's continued growth and success.
