Kraft Heinz Recalls Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Over Listeria Fears
Kraft Heinz has initiated a recall of Oscar Mayer turkey bacon products due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The company is working with retailers and distributors to remove the affected products from shelves.
The recall was triggered by laboratory testing conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The potentially contaminated products were manufactured by Kraft Heinz between August 19 and August 28, 2023. In total, approximately 367,812 pounds of vacuum-packed, fully cooked turkey bacon produced between April 24 and June 11 are affected.
The recalled products were distributed nationwide in the U.S. and also exported to the British Virgin Islands and Hong Kong. Despite the recall, there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions related to the consumption of these products.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled Oscar Mayer turkey bacon should not consume it and should return it to the place of purchase for a refund. Kraft Heinz urges consumers with questions about the recall to contact the company's consumer relations team.
