Medicare Part B covers molecular, antigen, and antibody tests, including FDA-authorized antibody tests using approved serology methods.

The FDA provides four COVID-19 home test kits per U.S. household for free. These tests allow for convenient detection of current infections. Meanwhile, antibody tests help determine previous infections but are not used for diagnosing current cases. Antigen tests, with a turnaround time of 15 minutes to 1 hour, also diagnose current infections.
