New Guide Promotes Inclusive Hiring in Think Tanks and Foundations
A new guide aims to promote inclusivity in hiring practices within think tanks and foundations. The guide, written by experts in the field, focuses on supporting young research professionals with migratory backgrounds. It covers the entire hiring process, from job postings to onboarding.
The guide, crafted by Sarah Bressan, a Research Fellow at GPPi, and Santiago Cuervo Escobar, a project manager at Stiftung Mercator, draws from their personal experiences and interviews with professionals in Germany. It targets young research talents with migratory backgrounds, although some suggestions may indeed benefit other groups.
Key contributors include Claire Luzia Leifert, founder of DGAP's Impact & Innovation Labs, and Susan Bergner, a PhD candidate focusing on African diaspora organizations. Pradnya Bivalkar, Senior Project Manager at the Robert Bosch Academy, also lent her expertise. The guide seeks to inspire more inclusive hiring, from job postings to candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
The guide, a contribution to the broader diversity and inclusion discussion, offers practical insights to foster a more inclusive research environment. It aims to help think tanks and foundations attract and retain talented individuals from diverse backgrounds.
