In the heart of Hanoi, two significant healthcare milestones are on the horizon. On August 19, the Central Maternity Hospital and the National Children's Hospital will open new facilities, each offering state-of-the-art medical care to the community.

The Central Maternity Hospital's second facility, located in Kieu Phu commune, boasts nearly 60,000 square metres of space and provides 300 inpatient beds. The facility can accommodate around 1,000 examinations daily, ensuring efficient and timely care for its patients. This expansion represents an investment of approximately VND950 billion ($38 million).

Meanwhile, the new National Children's Hospital facility, also situated in Kieu Phu commune, offers 300 beds for paediatric patients and their families. The hospital is equipped with advanced systems across all departments, ensuring comprehensive medical care for the young patients it serves. The investment for this new facility exceeds VND880 billion ($35.2 million).

The opening of these facilities is not just a local event, but a sign of growing international interest in Vietnam's healthcare sector. McCrae Hospitals, a Kiwi health tech innovation firm, is preparing to launch in Vietnam through a partnership with Franco-Vietnamese (FV) Hospital Group. The launch was marked by a signing ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City, signalling McCrae Hospitals' commitment to expanding its presence in the region.

Orion Health, a global leader in health information technology, has also committed to expanding its presence in Vietnam through partnerships. Six hospitals in Hoan My Medical Group were granted international certification by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI) on January 15, a testament to Orion Health's ongoing commitment to the region.

As part of Hanoi's digital transformation, the city plans to deploy electronic medical records (EMR) at all local hospitals starting in September. This move will streamline healthcare services, making them more efficient and effective for the city's residents.

Both the Central Maternity Hospital and the National Children's Hospital have ensured that all equipment in their new facilities meets the Ministry of Health's technical and safety standards. Essential medicines and medical supplies have been stocked and stored in accordance with regulations, ensuring the facilities are ready to provide quality care to their patients.

The outpatient department of the new National Children's Hospital facility is completed with a reception area, examination rooms, and a fully equipped emergency unit, ready to cater to the needs of its patients.

As these new facilities open their doors, they represent a significant step forward for Vietnam's healthcare sector, offering advanced medical care and digital services to the community.
