The '112' emergency service in the Nizhny Novgorod region handled nearly 132,000 inquiries in September 2025, according to regional statistics. The service operates 24/7 and caters to diverse needs, including police, ambulance, and gas services, as well as psychological assistance.
The number of police calls decreased by 14% to 17,715, while ambulance requests rose by 1% to 35,669. Notably, the '112' service accepts calls in foreign languages and can receive SMS messages, even without credit or a SIM card. This includes support for people with hearing impairments via text communication.
Gas service requests surged by 14% to 900, while fire assistance calls dropped by 1% to 1,343. Additionally, psychological support was accessed by 96 people through the '112' center last month.
