In a shocking turn of events, a 35-year-old Filipino tourist lost his life after being struck by a taxi that veered onto the pavement near the Nina Tower hotel in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong. The incident occurred at 1.52 pm on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 8 Yeung Uk Road.
According to reports, an 80-year-old taxi driver, feeling dizzy while driving, lost control of his vehicle and mounted the pavement. The taxi crashed into the hotel wall, tragically crushing the tourist between the vehicle and a marble column at the hotel entrance. The incident caused significant damage to the hotel entrance.
The tourist was rushed unconscious to Princess Margaret Hospital, but was later declared dead at 3:12 pm. The taxi driver was sent to Yan Chai Hospital with chest pain, head, and hand injuries. He was later arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death.
