Reduction in Alcohol Consumption Observed by 10% in Krasnodar Region
In the first eight months of 2025, the Kuban region has seen a decrease in alcohol sales, with a total consumption of 243.8 million litres, representing a 10% drop compared to the same period last year.
The sale of beer decreased by 8.3%, while strong drinks were purchased 4% less. Interestingly, the consumption of cider, perry, and mead slightly increased in the region. On the other hand, the sale of still wines decreased by 16.9% and sparkling wines by 10.5%.
The Department of Consumer Sphere and Alcohol Market Regulation of the Krasnodar Territory issued, extended, and re-registered over 2,900 licenses during this period. The alcohol sales licenses brought 154 million rubles to the Kuban budget.
Despite the decline in alcohol sales, the per capita consumption indicator decreased by 10.1% in the region. However, no new information about the specific types of alcoholic beverages or the causes of the decrease was provided.
It is worth noting that the total consumption of alcoholic beverages in the region this year is 27 million litres less than in 2024. No advertisements were found in this report.
