Ronald McDonald House Opens in Mumbai, India, Expanding Global Reach

Ronald McDonald House Charities has expanded its global reach by opening its first Ronald McDonald House in Mumbai, India. The facility aims to provide a comforting space for families with children undergoing medical treatment, offering support and respite.

Located near leading paediatric hospitals, the Mumbai House can accommodate over 500 families annually. It offers a range of services, including accommodation, meals, transport, counselling, and 24/7 support. The House was inaugurated by Advocate Ashish Shelar, Honble Minister for Information Technology, Government of Maharashtra, who praised the initiative for fulfilling the demand for affordable accommodation and kindness towards patients and their families.

The Mumbai House is part of Ronald McDonald House India's growing footprint. Plans are underway to establish 3 Family Rooms and 5 Houses across 5 cities by 2030. Smita Jatia, Chairwoman, Ronald McDonald House India, expressed that the House provides a nurturing environment for families to find respite and build a network of care.

The opening of Ronald McDonald House in Mumbai marks a significant step in providing essential support to families of children undergoing medical treatment. The House aims to ease the burden of accommodation, meals, and transportation, contributing to a child's healing and recovery.
