SPD Solinger establishes workgroup focused on health matters
In the heart of Germany, the Working Group of Social Democrats in Healthcare (ASG) has established a local branch in Solingen. This development, initiated by Holger Höhmann, comes at a time when healthcare is a top political concern and has existential implications for many people in the city.
Holger Höhmann, a long-standing member of the SPD, was elected as the chairperson of the Solingen ASG branch by a unanimous vote. His extensive experience in politics, having served on the Langenfeld city council for 15 years, will undoubtedly prove invaluable in leading the ASG's efforts.
Birgit Zeier, the district mayor of Wald, and Uli Preuß, a council member, were also elected as deputy chairpersons. The new board, in addition to Holger, includes Oliver and Sigrun Backhaus, Dagmar Küster, and Corinna Fassbender, with Corinna serving as secretary.
The ASG, the oldest SPD working group in Germany, aims to address the distribution struggles in the healthcare sector and ensure that policy is not determined by a person's economic situation. This mission is shared by the ASG's state chairman, Waldemar Radtke, who underscored the importance of healthcare policy within the SPD.
Josef Neumann, the SPD's mayoral candidate in Solingen, emphasized the importance of the healthcare industry as a job creator in Germany. This sentiment is echoed by the ASG, which recognises the significance of maintaining and improving healthcare services in Solingen.
The establishment of the Solingen ASG branch was significant, especially given the recent insolvency of the hospital operator "K-Plus," which affected the St. Lukas Clinic in Ohligs. However, local offerings were maintained, and stroke care was transferred to the municipal clinic, Fachklinikum Bethanien, which is considered a good basic healthcare option along with the PTV clinic.
The Solingen SPD, led by co-chairperson Sabine Vischer-Kippenhahn, looks forward to the contributions of the ASG in shaping healthcare policies that align with the values and goals of the Social Democratic Party. The re-election of Holger Höhmann as chairperson in the board elections is a testament to the confidence the community has in his leadership and the ASG's mission.
The ASG, in Solingen, under the leadership of Holger Höhmann, aims to use its extensive experience in addressing distribution struggles in the healthcare sector, focusing on ensuring fair policy that is not influenced by economic status, relevant to medical-conditions and health-and-wellness. This aligns with the mission of the ASG's state chairman, Waldemar Radtke, who underscores the importance of healthcare policy within the SPD. The establishment of this branch comes at a critical time, as seen in the recent insolvency of the hospital operator "K-Plus," thereby highlighting the significance of scientific advancements and medical-condition treatments in health-and-wellness.
