Student Services Giessen Wins PETA Praise for Vegan Options in 2025

Student Services Giessen has been commended for its commitment to vegan options, with three of its facilities receiving recognition from PETA in 2025. This follows a trend of improvement in vegan offerings across the campus, driven by student demand.

Mensa OBS has seen a significant improvement in its rating, scoring 1.5 points higher than the previous year. This can be attributed to the introduction of an extensive salad bar with numerous vegan components and the in-house production of plant-based alternatives. The mensa's efforts have not gone unnoticed, with PETA awarding it a green leaf rating in their adapted evaluation system for 2025.

CampusTor and Café am Kunstweg have also been praised for their consistently vegan menus, which change daily to offer a variety of options. These two facilities, along with Mensa OBS, were recognized by PETA in 2024 for their vegetarian and vegan offerings. The recognition is a testament to Student Services Giessen's dedication to catering to diverse dietary preferences and needs.
