New Director Potentially Appointed for Zabaykalsky Krai "Ethno-Archaeopark" Sukhotino

According to sources from Chita.ru, there are reports of a potential change in leadership at the Zabaykalsky Krai "Ethno-Archaeopark" Sukhotino, an institution in Russia dedicated to preserving and promoting regional history and culture.

The potential appointment, if confirmed, would see lawyer Sergei Orekhov taking over as the new director, replacing current acting director Sergei Boltian. It is worth noting that this appointment is still pending, and the official announcement has yet to be made.

Sergei Orekhov's association with the ethnopark is as a leading researcher or specialist involved in the project. His expertise is likely to be in archaeology, ethnography, or cultural heritage, helping to develop, manage, or study the park's ethnographic and archaeological resources.

The context of this potential appointment is related to Sergei Boltian's tenure as the acting director, which began on August 9, 2025. This appointment was made in accordance with the institution's charter by the regional Ministry of Culture. During his time as acting director, Boltian has been leading the institution temporarily, with a difference in salary, and will continue to do so until a permanent director is appointed.

Meanwhile, the ethnopark's former director, Natalia Vikulova, has moved to a new position within the regional Ministry of Culture. She was appointed as the acting minister of science and professional education. Prior to this, Vikulova had been serving as the director of the ethnopark, a role she held before Boltian's appointment.

The Zabaykalsky Krai "Ethno-Archaeopark" Sukhotino continues to be a significant institution in preserving and promoting the rich history and culture of the region, and any changes in leadership will undoubtedly have an impact on its future direction and development.
