The United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues to move forward with its ambitious plans, as the UAE Cabinet, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, recently approved several significant decisions.
One of the key decisions involves the National Policy for Economic Clusters, a framework designed to strengthen interconnected industries. This policy aims to boost foreign trade by AED 15 billion over the next seven years and is expected to add more than AED 30 billion annually to the national GDP. The policy seeks to leverage the unique strengths of each emirate, enhancing global competitiveness in key sectors such as finance, tourism, food, space, and data analytics.
In addition, the UAE Cabinet has endorsed the agenda for the UAE Government Annual Meetings, scheduled for November 4-6 in Abu Dhabi. The meetings will bring together 500 senior officials to discuss priorities including education, healthcare, family values, the economy, and artificial intelligence.
Another noteworthy decision is the establishment of the UAE Council for Integrative Medicine. This council, chaired by Sheikha Salama bint Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, will oversee the development of guidelines and treatment protocols that combine modern and traditional practices to enhance patient care.
The UAE's commitment to sustainability is also evident in the approval of the updated National Plan for Reducing Aviation Emissions. The plan aims to reduce the carbon footprint of the aviation sector, contributing to the UAE's broader goal of combating climate change.
The UAE has also ratified 85 international agreements and initiated reviews of national air quality and biodiversity strategies. Furthermore, national cybersecurity policies have been strengthened to protect the nation's digital infrastructure.
The UAE Genomics Council's work has also been advanced, though specific details about this progress have not been disclosed. Sheikh Mohammed affirmed that all national teams are progressing in line with the country's long-term vision for prosperity and competitence.
In a significant move, the UAE will host 12 major international events, further cementing its position as a global hub for innovation and collaboration. These decisions reflect the UAE's unwavering commitment to progress and its vision for a sustainable, prosperous future.
