Nauryzbai District: Progress and Challenges in 2021

The Nauryzbai District, Almaty's youngest district, established six years ago, is witnessing a surge of development this year. In an online meeting hosted by the district's akim on the Almaty TV channel, residents were updated on the progress and plans for the district.

One of the most significant developments is the nearing completion of a fire station in the Akjar microdistrict. This essential infrastructure will undoubtedly enhance the district's safety measures.

Under the "Budget Participation" program, 50 projects are planned for implementation in the district this year. These include the construction of parks, children's and sports playgrounds, sidewalks, and irrigation networks. The district's akim, in an effort to encourage community involvement, advised Lazzat Maksatova, a resident of the district, to participate in this program, where anyone can submit their ideas for improving the urban environment.

Lazzat, along with many other residents, has expressed concerns about the lack of facilities for children and teenagers in the Kuramys microdistrict and between Karagaily. She requested the construction of additional children's playgrounds, small sports complexes, monkey bars, and facilities for teenagers in these areas.

However, one of the district's most pressing issues remains the lack of drinking water for 70,000 residents. This concern was echoed by Yashar Mammedov, another resident, who asked about the timeframe for connecting to the newly laid water supply. While no specific timeline was provided during the meeting, the akim promised to process all appeals received during and after the meeting regarding this matter.

In an effort to address this issue, construction of water supply and sewage systems began in six microdistricts of the Nauryzbai District in 2020, and this work will continue in 2021.

Other concerns raised by residents include road repair, water supply and sewage system installation, street lighting, lack of public transport, absence of bus stops and parking, and housing and communal services. Sanjar Togai, in response to these concerns, announced that within the framework of the "City without Outskirts" program, LED lighting poles have been installed on 312 streets in the district, addressing the issue of almost 80% of the district being unlit previously. Furthermore, 35 streets with sidewalks were repaired in the district last year.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for residents to ask questions and voice their concerns. Questions were received through various platforms including phone, ZOOM, WhatsApp, and from three locations where mobile television stations were operating.

In addition to these developments, 2021 will see the construction of two health complexes, five kindergartens, and four schools in the Nauryzbai District. The district is also witnessing the construction of new and safe roads, a welcome improvement for its residents.

Despite the challenges, the Nauryzbai District is making significant strides in its development, with the community's involvement playing a crucial role in shaping its future. For detailed and official timeline information on water supply connections in Nauryzbai District, it would be advisable to consult the local municipal water utility providers or the Almaty city administration's official reports for 2021.

Science and health-and-wellness are expected to improve in the Nauryzbai District with the construction of two health complexes scheduled for 2021. This development will undoubtedly contribute to enhancing the district's overall well-being and quality of life.
