Water Quality Indicators Report for 29th May, 2025

In Yakutsk on May 29, the treated cold water met the sanitation norms stipulated by SanPiN.

Before treatment, the water exhibited a color of 126.8 degrees, turbidity level of 3.40 milligrams per decimeter cubed (mg/dm³), and an iron content of 0.54 mg/dm³.

Upon distribution to the city from water node No.1, the water's color diminished to 9.5 degrees, turbidity dropped to 0.10 mg/dm³, and iron content decreased to 0.09 mg/dm³.

As per SanPiN 1.2.3685-21, the maximum allowable concentrations for these parameters in drinking water are: color - 20 degrees, turbidity - 1.5 mg/dm³, and iron - 0.3 mg/dm³.

During floods, water samples are gathered at two-hour intervals from Water Intake Facilities. Additionally, samples are collected once daily at the main network's endpoints.

The daily report on the water quality is submitted to the Yakutia branch of Rospotrebnadzor. Parallel sampling is conducted by FSBI "Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in Yakutia."

Residents encountering murky or impure water at home are advised to reach out to their managing companies and the Yakutia branch of Rospotrebnadzor to determine the cause of these issues.

In general, water quality testing involves sampling from various points along water bodies, measuring physical, chemical, and biological parameters, and collecting samples at frequent intervals during emergencies like floods. Analysis techniques might include spectrophotometry, titration, and microbiological culturing.

The reported data often complies with regulatory standards, is stored in databases, and may include visualization through geographic information systems. Public notification procedures are in place for addressing water quality concerns during emergencies.

In the context of water quality testing and analysis, the science of environmental-science plays a significant role in monitoring the health-and-wellness aspects of Yakutsk's water resources. For instance, the reported data on parameters like color, turbidity, and iron content in drinking water are essential indicators of potential health risks and the effectiveness of treatment processes, such as the one described in the given text.
