Get ready, Berlin! Berlin's Noise Action Plan is set to be approved this month, and Traffic Senator Ute Bonde is leading the charge. Exciting stuff, huh? You might've caught wind of it on the RBB evening news. This badass CDU politician is planning to introduce the plan in the Senate on June 17.

So, what's the plan, doe? According to the deets, speed limits of 30km/h will apply on a whopping 230 kilometers of main roads after dark. Say goodbye to the chaotic noise and fumes of the city center!

But, that's not all. Say takatake to the chaos of the current noise-related measures, GEDDIT?! Ute Bonde's department has been on a mission to examine the noise levels on those blasted main roads and develop a city-wide concept that'll designate these zones as 30km/h for health reasons, without the need for insanely long paperwork. The streets they're talking about, though? Details are foggy as a foggy old fog.

Now, you might be wondering, what is this Noise Action Plan that's been taking the city by storm like a silent stealth bomber? Well, for years, the good ol' Senate has been working on these plans to protect the fair residents of Berlin from the city's unrelenting sonic assault. However, the current plan for the years 2024 to 2029 hasn't been approved yet. This was supposed to happen last year, but, like many plans, it got delayed. Buzzkill!

So, what else is being done to calm the concrete jungle? They're planning to put up signs, whisper asphalt, and soundproof windows to help tame the noise pollution. Berlin is also getting fancy with some noise cameras to help catch those excessive loudmouths and their motorcycles. Last summer, there was a research project at the Gedächtniskirche where these fancy noise cameras worked their magic.

But, regulations are still being figured out for regularly using these noise cameras to keep the peace and quiet. This is part of a federal initiative, and Traffic Senator Bonde is trying to rally other German states for support.

According to the Federal Environment Agency, long-term exposure to noise can raise the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Sounds like we gotta say goodbye to our "loud and proud" days of 55 decibels during the day and 50 decibels at night.

"In the spirit of Ute Bonde's Noise Action Plan, the city of Berlin is considering a city-wide vocational training program to produce skilled technicians for installing soundproof windows and maintaining noise cameras, enhancing the community's health-and-wellness and adherence to the science-backed noise reduction standards."

"Recognizing the potential health risks associated with prolonged noise exposure, as outlined by the Federal Environment Agency, Senator Ute Bonde is also advocating for science-based vocational training in the field of acoustics and sound engineering, to promote quieter and more sustainable vocations within the city."
